What is Intex Pharma Arimidex?

Arimidex containing Anastrozole is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor that belongs to the class of SERMs or Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators. 

In other words, it is a drug that reduces or completely inhibits estrogen formation in the body. This, in turn, increases the level of free testosterone, which significantly helps in boosting the muscle-building process. 

One sachet of Arimidex contains sixty tablets of 1 mg Anastrazole each. This is meant only for oral usage.                                                                                                                            

Uses 

Arimidex is used to treat breast cancer in women who are in the post menopausal stage of their lives. This drug is also used to: 

• Prevent breast cancer in women with a family history of suffering from the condition or those who have overcome it
• Treat male infertility and low testosterone levels 
• Help athletes gain muscle mass by boosting testosterone levels in the body
• Improve the growth of secondary male reproductive characteristics, such as growth of facial hair

Dosage 

The recommended dosage of Arimidex is as follows:

Men

Men should consume one tablet of 1 mg per day for up to five years. In case of a lower dosage or different treatment cycle, please consult your doctor. Before you consume it, please check your Testosterone, Luteinizing hormone, estradiol, and Follicle Stimulating Hormone levels. 

Women

Women should consume one tablet of 1 mg per day for five years. Please consult your doctor regarding the exact duration of the treatment. 

General dosage instructions

Do not crush or break the Arimidex tablet into two pieces when you consume it. Take it with a glass of water or milk to make the process easier. Avoid consuming the tablet with fat-filled food as it can interfere with your digestion.

The exact dosage will be prescribed by your doctor after evaluating your current health and fitness goals. Avoid exceeding the prescribed dosage at any given time. If you’re unsure about the dosage quantity, visit your nearby clinic or hospital to have a nurse or doctor administer it. 

In case you forget to take the drug, consume it immediately when you recall it. However, if you forgot one dosage and it’s time for your next, skip it and proceed with your next one.

Side Effects 

Some of the negative effects of Arimidex are:

• Fatigue
• Vomiting and nausea
• Dizziness
• Muscle and joint pain
• Unpleasant vaginal odor in women
• Pain in your bones

Serious side effects include:

• Blood clots
• Affected vision 
• Difficulties in speaking 
• Weak arms and legs
• Severe chills and fever

You should report the above side effects to your doctor immediately if they persist. Note that not all side effects will present in each user, nor with equal severity. 

Drug Interactions 

You should avoid consuming Arimidex with the following types of drugs:

• Blood thinners
• Estrogen-based medications
• Other Aromatase inhibitor medicines  
• Antidepressants 
• Other anti-breast cancer medicines like Tamoxifen

Consult your doctor if you’re already consuming one of these medicines. 

Precautions 

Purchase Arimidex from a verified or licensed pharmacy. You cannot purchase it as an over-the-counter drug. Get a prescription signed by your doctor and then head to the pharmacy. 

Avoid consuming this drug if you’re expecting a child or are in any stage of breastfeeding. Do not consume it with alcohol. Do not drive after consuming this drug. It can also adversely affect your kidneys and liver, so please consult your doctor.

Storage 

You should store Arimidex out of the reach of children and pets. Keep the product at room temperature between 20 and 25° C  or 68 and 77° Fahrenheit. Ensure to keep it away from direct sunlight and excess moisture.
